Today's tutorial comes from Elizabeth Blanchard, one of the Aurora Design Fabrics admins. She has made a video tutorial to show how she colorblocks her free Patterns for Pirates slouchy Beanies
For my final version, I used this gorgeous green glitter print from Aurora Design Fabrics. I love how it seems to sparkle, even though it's just an illusion. I also used Aurora Designs white cotton Lycra for the trim. The green was one of my favorite colorways and was part of my surprise box from Brandi this month. I'm so glad I got a Christmas-y color, as now I have a shirt to wear for holiday things that is both comfortable and dressy. You can find the glitter custom round here: Aurora Design Fabrics Pre Orders but be sure and head over there very soon, as they will be closing on the 9th of December!
Hi! Welcome to my blog! Thanks so much for stopping by! I recently received a set of strike offs from Stardust Textile company, and I just had to share them, as they're probably some of the best prints I've worked with! I have sewn a number of times now for Moonbeam Textile Company, but have… Continue reading Stardust Textile Company’s Broadway round & a Star shaped skirt hack
Hey everyone! Hope you're having a fantastic day! One of the fabric designers I work with (Beanpop) is having a sale to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey. I think this is a great cause and I would love to see it go well. 50% of each sale is being donated. I have a love… Continue reading Harvey Relief Sale – Beanpop Fabrics
I recently achieved something I've only ever dreamed of....I managed to sew up one of my fabric strike offs FOR a pattern test! If you do pattern testing and strike off sewing(or know about them), you know that finding a balance is key, but seldom do the two end up overlapping perfectly. I've always run into scheduling issues before. This time, Katie (Wilson, of Duck Butt Designs) was gracious enough to allow me to share little sneaks of the Duck Butt Designs project throughout the week, so that I could share my pretties from the ladies over at Beanpop, too! I'm pretty darn excited about it all, too!
So...A little while ago, I shared the Hip Hop romper pattern with you in a post here. The kids' version I made for aquila was fun, simple to make, and super cute on her. (see photos below) ....Drumroll.... Now there's a version for mama too! I was incredibly excited, but also curious about a mommy… Continue reading Hip Hop, why not romp…part 2. (Still Hipping and hopping?)
Hi all! It's been a minute since I have posted, as it's been an incredibly busy few weeks here at Mermaid Mama Designs. I have been testing patterns, sewing strike offs and processing orders for my Etsy shop every single day for the past 2 weeks! It feels great to be so busy and productive! I'm definitely… Continue reading Star Dust & Moon Beam Textile’s newest round of fabric is essentially magic
