Hi all! Occasionally, I come across a stand out tutorial while doing research for a project. I recently had a patten test that called for a bias tape/banded neckline. I have never been great at these, so I was a little nervous about it. Luckily for me, the pattern had an excellent explanation, but in my… Continue reading Reblog: Getting flat bias necklines by Grainline Studio – perfectly explained!
Hi all. I stumbled across this post today by Jessica Fenon in the Leaky Boon Facebook group and fell in love. She said she wrote it for another mother who asked what to tell her hubby when he came home and the house was a mess, so he asked what she did all day. It's… Continue reading Reblog: What to tell hubby when he asks what you’ve done all day.
Hi! I don't know about you, but I struggle with fitted pants. I have had a jeans pattern on my to do list forever, but I'm terrified of them. I have noticed, in cruising the online sewing community groups, that I'm not alone in my trepidation. While this makes me feel better, it makes me… Continue reading Having pants fit issues? The solution is here!
I don't know about you, but I've never been a big fan of Easter. I mean, I'm a fan of celebrating the religious reasons for it, just not the whole frilly dress up, overgrown bunny rabbit 🐰 and candy hunt parts. This year it's a completely different ball game. So I must look at my… Continue reading The Easter dress
Hi everyone! I've been kinda quiet on here lately, as I've devoted all my free time to working on clothing projects. I've been Sewing strike offs, pattern testing and creating custom items to sell in my Etsy shop. I have definitely found a new passion. I love creating Babywearing accessories, but there is a limit… Continue reading My new weekly spotlight post / Mama Cassie top and dress by Made for Mermaids

I recently enrolled my son in an amazing christian, parent-led homeschool co-op preschool (wow, that's a mouthful. Haha). Each mama gets to teach one of the classes for the group. The class I get to teach is Sensory Exploration. We have a different book for each week that we base our reading and activities around.… Continue reading If You Give A Mouse A Cookie individual sensory bins (preschool / kindergarten)
I’ve made this before! Super easy (if not a little time consuming.) Just turn on a show & start snipping! They turn out beautifully and unique each time 🙂
What you need:
Toilet Paper Rolls- the number depends on how large your creation will be
Wall Mount Squares
Gather toilet paper rolls. I used about 28 rolls for this project. Paper towel rolls count for approx. three regular sized rolls.
Squish your rolls
Cut slices of the roll to desired thickness. Cut into varying 1/2 inch slices and you will be able to get 12 slices from each roll.
Your finished flower should look like this. Repeat step 6 until you have five completed flowers. Let dry.
Beginning attaching flowers together. The toilet paper rolls are pretty pliable at this point…

Yes, you read it right. This wall art is made from empty toilet paper rolls! This post has been a long time coming, but it took a little time to gather all the rolls needed and find a little time to get it finished.
What you will need:
- empty toilet paper rolls (depending on the size of what you are making depends on the amount you will need.)
- glue gun
- black matte paint
Now let’s get to it! Gather your toilet paper rolls and scissors. For the width of each strip you can measure if you like and make them even, I just figured 6 strips out of each roll and guessed.
Now take your toilet paper roll and crush it in half and start cutting! This will make the petal decals, or the oval shapes
(Sorry about the flash in the next few pictures) To make the…
