Swim into summer in gorgeous prints from RP Custom prints

Summer has arrived! Say hello to it in style with a beautiful new swimsuit or cover up!

One of my favorite fabric shops, RP Custom prints, is running a flash round of swim fabric, board short fabric and jersey fabric. Theyre all made in the USA and are super thick and easy to sew up.
I love that little mama and I can match, even when we go swimming. How amazing would it be to have the whole family in matching swim wear? I think it sounds like tons of fun!

Head on over to the RP custom prints Facebook group to find out about these swim fabrics now! After seeing the photos and finding what you need, you can visit the website by clicking here

The 2 prints we used (stripes and palm trees) are available, as well as several other coordinating prints(splatter, geometric prints) and stand alone ones in bright colors and patterns.  Photos really don’t do them justice, as the colors are super vivid and really pop in person.

Mama’s outfit: top is the lovesick Bralette & bottoms are the shorties from the I ❤ you set, both by George & Ginger Pattern co & both are FREE patterns if you join the Facebook group!

I added an extra set of straps, a set of  soft bra cups and swim lining to the bralette for better swim support. I made the shorts following the pattern exactly, but I made an extra layer out of swim lining and placed it inside, wrong sides together before adding the waistband. I also banded the legs for more coverage while chasing kids and swimming.
Band were made using the basic band formula of length of leg opening (front plus bacj) X 80% + 1(seam allowance)= length. Width was 2″.  Sew the short ends together, RST to create bands, then quarter and pin leg opening and band.  Sew them together, pulling slightly on the band to match the pins. Finish seams, open, press and topstitch. 🙂
