This post is going to serve as a catch up post. While I love to sew and love to share, I have kids a fairly busy life, which means that often, things don't get shared. I'm really tired of looking at my pretties and realizing I didn't share them. Sewing, for me, is all about the tangible item/reward that comes from it, as well as the feeling of having completed something. Lord knows, nothing else in this house ever feels like it's really "completed". (Laundry or dishes, anyone?...

A waist stay acts as an internal stabilizer by anchoring a garment, usually a dress, at the waist. This helps minimize distortion in the upper part of the garment and prevents it from sliding down (or up).
*I received these products free in exchange for my review. The review was asked for, but the opinions werent. They're all mine. 🙂 Hey everyone! Hey yall! How are you? Hope this post finds you well! I've been a busy little beaver, sewing my way through a couple loads of strike offs and doing a couple pattern tests. Things always seem to come to a head at the same time for me. No matter how strategically I plan everything out,… Continue reading Duchess & Hare go swimming
thank you, Katy McKinley, for being yourself (so sweet), for standing up & speaking the truth/what's right. And thanks for the fun freebie, too!
I recently achieved something I've only ever dreamed of....I managed to sew up one of my fabric strike offs FOR a pattern test! If you do pattern testing and strike off sewing(or know about them), you know that finding a balance is key, but seldom do the two end up overlapping perfectly. I've always run into scheduling issues before. This time, Katie (Wilson, of Duck Butt Designs) was gracious enough to allow me to share little sneaks of the Duck Butt Designs project throughout the week, so that I could share my pretties from the ladies over at Beanpop, too! I'm pretty darn excited about it all, too!
Hey yall! So glad you're here! Every season, it seems, I decide to embark upon the ultimate quest....the capsule wardobe. And every season, I get about 1-2 pieces in and I either get bored with creating basics, I run out of fabric within my color scheme, or my ADD kicks in and I completely forget… Continue reading Beginning at the beginning again-my every season struggle to begin a capsule wardrobe
Hi everyone! I have a few online "friends" that I follow for inspiration, advice and tips. Sewing with Sarah is one of my favorites. She recently had a scare, where someone took a photo of hers, removed her watermark, then used the picture to market their product. This isn't the first I've heard of companies… Continue reading Reblog: Tip Tuesday: Hey! That’s my baby! (and my photo) – Sewing with Sarah
